Chris House and Andy Owler have come up with the Baggy Partners concept. It is a self help scheme for those who are suffering from the affliction of maving a Matra but not having the knowledge and / or time to keep it on the road. Worse still is the daunting prospect of putting back on the road a car which is not in frequent use. Lack of money is not always the main cause of Matra decline and they are not always expensive to repair, especially if DIY is a possibility. Finding someone to help, give moral support and advice can be much more difficult. Two people working together can often achieve more than one person putting in twice the time.
The concept could be applied to many members in need of assistance and with a pair of willing hands to offer. The partners do not need to have the technical skills of a Roy Gillard or Phil Kitch (although it would be nice!) but they do need to want to give it a try. There is a tremendous satisfaction in pulling a beautiful car back from the dead.
